Sam's Snack Cart
We are proud to announce the introduction to Sam's Snack
Cart to the Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh. This cart will help all
the families on the 8 North Oncology Unit.
As can be seen in the pictures, this cart will supply
families with small meals and snacks while staying with their loved
ones. Unfortunately, these items are consumable and need to be replaced quite
often.
Therefore, we are looking for any parties interested in
sponsoring or supporting this worthy program.
In addition to cash
donations, the Samuel J Foundation will accept in-kind donations of goods or
services in support of some of our programs, as well as our business
operations.
One of our ongoing programs is
designed to provide support to children in treatment for pediatric cancers
at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, as well as their parents. We have two
separate areas of need for this program.
Bulk microwaveable or
non-perishable food items for parents/caregivers staying with children on
the inpatient hematology/oncology unit to have during those times when they are
unable—or just too tired-to leave and grab a bite to eat. Contact us for
more specific information.
Items for children to use while
receiving treatment both at the outpatient clinic and on the inpatient
unit. Specific needs include:
CD players
CD’s (child/youth
appropriate)
DVD’s and videos
(child/youth appropriate)
Playstation/Nintendo
games (especially for younger kids)
VCR’s/DVD players (2)
Portable TV set (1)

raise money for the Samuel J Foundation
We estimate that each search will generate approximately $0.01
for the Samuel J Foundation. Thus with 1,000 supporters
searching twice a day we would receive an estimated $7,300 per
year. A smaller number of 100 supporters searching twice a day
would earn an estimated $730. The sky is the limit, though the
more people search, the more the Samuel J Foundation will earn!
